Defqon.1 2026
Defqon.1 2026 was due to take place from Thursday to Sunday, 25-28 June 2026, in Biddinghuizen in the Netherlands, with the theme Sacred Oath. The festival was sold out, but it was cancelled because of extreme heat.
What happened?
Before the festival, Q-dance announced that only weekend visitors would be let in on Friday and Saturday, because of high temperatures and a code orange warning. The Sunday day tickets were still valid.
The campsite opened as planned on Thursday 25 June. That afternoon, the Dutch meteorological institute KNMI issued a code red heat warning from midnight. At midnight, Q-dance announced that the rest of the festival was cancelled, and visitors had to leave the campsite during Friday 26 June.
Q-dance later wrote that the festival was cancelled together with the authorities because of extreme weather.
