Going to Defqon.1 for the first time? Here is the most important information about how the festival works, with facts from Q-dance. Defqon.1 2027 takes place on 24-27 June in Biddinghuizen. The rules below apply to 2026, because Q-dance has not published the information for 2027 yet.

Ticket and wristband

Your ticket is the festival wristband, the Legendary Bracelet. It is both your entrance ticket and how you pay, and you buy everything at the festival with the wristband. You top it up with money in the Defqon.1 app or on site, at self-service machines and staffed top-up desks. Cash only works at the staffed desks and only in euros. Any money left over is refunded automatically to your bank account after the festival. Read more about tickets for 2027.

The campsite

With a weekend ticket you stay at the campsite. It opens at 12:00 on Thursday and closes at 12:00 on Monday. Talk to the camping hosts before you put up your tent. Every time you enter the campsite, you and your belongings are checked, and you have to check out with your wristband to be able to get back in. The campsite must be quiet between 02:00 and 09:00. The camping area The Wasted Lands has two well-stocked supermarkets. Read more about the camping.

The programme

  • Thursday: The Gathering, the opening of the festival, which is only for weekend ticket holders.
  • Saturday: Power Hour and The Endshow, Saturday's big evening show.
  • Sunday: Sunday Funday and the finale with The Closing Ceremony and The Closing Ritual at RED.

In 2026 The Gathering started at 18:00, The Endshow at 22:40 and The Closing Ceremony at 18:00 on Sunday. The times for 2027 will come with the timetable.

The app

The Defqon.1 app has the full timetable, your own schedule, an interactive map of the festival grounds and important messages. The app can remind you 20 minutes before your favourite artists start.

Safety and health

  • Defqon.1 has a zero-tolerance policy on drugs.
  • First aid is available at four locations. The ones at camping area 1 and 5 and at the bus entrance are open around the clock for campers. Q-dance says first aid is your friend, with no judgement and no consequences.
  • Camping hosts (Camping Guardians) are available around the clock at the tipi tents near the shower blocks.
  • Use earplugs. Q-dance recommends earplugs with music filters, and they are sold at the merchandise stands.
  • Drink water, eat properly and avoid too much sun when it is hot. Evenings and nights can get cold.
  • Hand in lost property at the nearest info desk. After the festival it is handled by iLost.
